Check the 1850 census records for Carter County Tennessee 10th Civil District listing or household # 14. (Note: Carter Co. TN. borders Sullivan Co. TN.).
A Henry Colbock age 87 from PA. was living in this household.
This would estimate his birth date (Abt. 1763).
This is the only documented Henry Colbock from PA. that I have found in over 40 years of research. The Henry Colbock Jr. age 23 and head of household was my Gr. Gr. Grandfather.
The Teter Colbock age 3 in 1850 was my Gr. Grandfather.
Teter served in the Union Army during the civil war and used the COLBOCK spelling at that time. Most of Upper East Tennessee fought for the union and paid a heavy price, being surrounded by confederates.
By 1870, Teter was using the Colbaugh surname.
The 1763 Henry Colbock, listed above, was still too young to be the
Henry Kalbach that received land grants in Sullivan County Tennessee.
Just guessing by dates, Henry Kalbach immigrated from Germany to PA. moved to Sullivan County Tennessee. Henry, John and Jacob Colbock were the sons and the 1763 Henry Colbock for sure was born in Pa. and died after 1850.
He doesn't appear on the 1860 census rolls for this household.
