Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Teter Colbaugh was captured on the Cherry River near Bean Station, Tn.
He was listed as a deserter as his capture was unknown by his company.
Teter was taken to a pow camp in Bristol, Tn and later transferred to the pow camp in Danville, Va. Lots of stories about this Camp.
Teter was paroled (exchanged) at the James River and transferred to an Army
hospital at Camp Chase, Ohio for treatment.
The charge of desertion was dismissed and have documents clearing is name and receiving an honorable discharge. Lots of pension records also available.
Over 100 pages of military records and documents on Teter Colbock (Colbaugh)

Teter Nave Colbock (Colbaugh) was in the Union Army.
Most of Carter County and Johnson County served in the union cause.
At that time, Teter used the Colbock spelling as last name.
He later changed spelling to Colbaugh.
I have a copy of his discharge and all military records.
Teter was my great grand father and my grand mother was Sarah Ellen Colbaugh, a sister to
Daniel Colbaugh.
Teter enlisted into service, Union Army, at Strawberry Plains, Tn. June 30,1864. Age 18 yrs.
Pvt. Co. A 3rd Reg"t Tenn Mtd Inf. His military records list his father as Henry Colbock.
He resided in Stoney Creek, Peters Hollow, Carter Co. tn.
