Thank you for your help. I had big help from another searcher who told me Nancy McAdoo, widow of John, remarried to Charles Vincent and I found them 1880 McMinn Co. with her son R.S. and two more half-brothers, Dallas Wilky Vincent and James Vincent. But her two sons listed on 1860, Pleasant E. age 3 and 7 month-old Madison were gone. Nancy is widowed and lives with her son Dallas Vincent in 1900 Meigs Co. and says she had three of five children survive. So it all fit with census info, including James Vincent next door to family of Robert Samuel Calbaugh 1930 in Rhea County. Until I asked for help, I had R. Samuel Calbaugh as son of his grandfather George! Never would have guessed about widow of John and got Sams confused. Henry and Mary of Meigs Co.had a John age 8 in 1850, and on the 1860 had John W. age 2!! But the John of George W. Calbaugh, age 12 in 1850, fits the age of John (23), a blacksmith, and wife Nancy in 1860 before he was killed 1863. This is a very !
interesting old family. I have access to all census, so any help I can give back, please e-mail me.

I have all census records for Samuel Calbaugh/Colbaugh and have him as son of George W. Calbough, b. abt 1810 Tenn.. the confusion is that Henry had a John and a Sam, and George had a John and a Sam and then there are two Sams in Rhea Co. 1910, for example. But I have descendant who is from Floyd, son of Robert Samuel and Nannie (Nancy) Harveston, and knows this family. Any comment or help untangling this spaghetti would be appreciated. But I do not think Robert Sam Calbaugh is the son of John and Nancy McAdoo Calbaugh. Any help I can be with what I have is freely offered.
