Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

To Coker and Gilbert researchers: My cousin who is a direct female line descendant od Didama Coker Gilbert has had her DNA test. Her mtDNA which is proven too descend from Didama Coker Gilbert is K1b1a1. This mtDNA is primarily British/Irish with French/German. It has its origin in Scandanavia.
Some researchers have proposed that Didama Coker's mother was a Linda (Malinda/Melinda) Irons married to Dempsey Coker. I have seen no proof of that but do not know.
Hope this helps the Coker-Gilbert researchers.
