Hi
There is a book called 'Water on a Flat Rock: The Cherokee Love Story of John and Annie Coker' written by Kathy Lynn Copeland (aka Sonseeahray )
You can find it on amazon, com. She has a website called: Water Beetle Cherokee Programs
She says John and Annie are her great-great-great-grandparents. Her website says she is a member of the Cherokee Nation. Her website gives an email address: Sunceria(a)hotmail.com
Maybe she could give you some information on it.

I am aware of this fiction book. This is a difficult family to figure out for various reasons.. because of the two different Joseph Cokers, who both claim to have this John Coker as their father. So did this John Coker really name two different sons named Joseph? See the John Watson Coker tree on Ancestry.com and then go to the links for the other trees to see the various theories about this family. I wish we could get someone from the Bexar County Texas Cokers to do the YDNA testing...that would help us a whole lot. Since there were two different Joseph Cokers on the 1830 Franklin Co., TN census and we have a DNA donor from one of the Joseph's it would be great to get a DNA donor from the other Joseph Coker line (the one who was in Bexar County....or his brother James) and if they both match very closely it would help us to know that these were from the same Coker line. Anyone out there have a Coker surnamed cousin willing to do the DNA testing from this Bexar County, TX, line of Cokers?
