As I was looking at the handwritten pages, I realized that the one that says that James M Coker's father was "Bill Coker" was written by my grandmother (Mae's daughter.)
I think she was mistaken and that Bill Coker was James' GRANDFATHER, not his father. I believe Bill was married to a Crumpton.
I believe that James M. Coker's father was James J. Coker.
I found a James J. and Eliza E. Coker with several children that match up with what my great grandmother wrote.

I'm having trouble locating MY Cokers. They don't seem to connect to all these others.
I have a handwritten page from my Great Grandmother Mae Isabell Coker (Darby). She tells me this:
Father: James Materson (Madison?)Coker died OK
Mother: Ella Georgie Norah Powell died TX
Brother: James Ona Coker died 1942 Ellis Co TX
Sister: Carrie Frances Coker (Elledge)died 1975 CA
Sister: Ella Jenette "Nettie" Coker (Phelps)
Brother: Joseph Lafayette Coker died 1925 TN
Sister: Hettie Coker died TX
Sister: Jennie Coker (died as infant?)
Sister: Cora Ellen Coker (Hollis)
I do know that her parents died of pneumonia when she was very young and she was raised by siblings and aunts and uncles.
She says her daddy's father was Bill Coker and his grandmother was a Crumpton.
I have a lot more info, but none of it ties in with the census records or other people's family trees.
I would appreciate any leads or guidance.
Thanks so much!
Sherri
