i have a mary coker edwards in my notebook that an aunt had written about my ggrandmothers people. just a list of names. she was from georgia and born in july 15, 1853. her name was josephine/jaseyphene/josie edwards. she was married to a albert clifton and william key, my ggrandfather. family lore says she comes from ga. the story is she came with wm key from ga. she had first child, sallie clifton when she came. sallie was my grandmother's half sister. my grandmother was born in ms. she is mary ann key. my aunt made a list of names which says they are grandmother key's relatives. they are robert[bob]edwards, ferbia jones. jaseyphene, willie [william] jackson, mary koker edward, robert, bailey, eddie, john, jim, martha louisa. all are edwards. do you know any of these. she and wm. key came to ms. between 1875 and 1880 i think because that is when the two girls were born unless they were both born in ms. i saw somewhere in ms, cokers and edwards lived close to each other.!
that is why i thought the first child might have been born in ms perhaps. do you or anybody know anything about these people???? thanks and blessings, ruth wolfe wilson. if you do please e-mail me as well as post. my e-mail is--- daystar953(a)aol.com

Hi.
I am also looking for Cokers that began in either the Wilmington, NC area or Charleston, SC area. They migrated to Texas by way of Alabama and then on to Kaufman County, Texas in the mid 1800s (Argus Troy Coker and family). There is also a Cherokee connection (I think the Cokers went through Oklahoma before settling in Tx).
Any help would be appreciated!
