I have two Coker brothers. I am almost positive we are descendants of John & Pricilla, my parents are named in the book The Coker Report, and Our Coker Kin, as being descendants, is that proof enough? My father passed away in 1988. I have long wanted them to have DNA done, on the Coker line, but it has been unaffordable for me. please contact me asap

That would be great to know..I descend from the COKER line and have been
told that it is thru John and Priscilla. BUT I descend from my grandmother
who was a COKER. Hate to think all these years I had wrong info.

If you meet the qualifications, I will have Family Tree DNA send you a
kit for a 67 marker Y-DNA test. Please be sure that you are willing to
do the test. I have this kit available because my cousin agreed to do
the test 2 years ago but changed his mind.

I have a letter posted to my cousin on 8 Oct 1979 regarding the William
Coker family from Burke County, North Carolina and Arkansas. Quote from
letter ". . . There was a Calvin Coker in my group. I am down from
Redessa "Dicie" Trimble, dt. of Sarah Coker. The name Dicie seems not to
come from the Trimble line. . ." Maybe a helpful clue to Coker
researchers searching for a Dicie or Dicey; perhaps a nickname for Redessa.
Warmest regards,
