I read about Buck and his son Joseph coker, because I'm related to some Cokers that live in Oregon. Family lost touch along time ago. My grandmother Rena's family on my mom's side. Rena said her mother, who died when she was about three years old, had a certain degree of Indian blood in her and her picture shows she looks a little bit Indian about half. I'm not sure but my dad said we might be related to a Nave also, but way back. I want to get the DNA test done someday.MY mom was often referred to as an Indian throw- back and has some subbtle traits of African American blood, that have even been pointed out by African Americans over the years. And even know my skin is white and my eyes are blue, I was told by an Africa American hair dresser that I have some black in me, she was going through my hair, she said she could see it in the texture of my hair, which texture I've had since the teen years. I've known her for a long time ,I told her that wasn't a shock to me,but I tho!
ught it came from Rena's husbands side who was an American born French Canadian, surename ,Jacobs.

My GGGGrandmother, an African American who I discovered on the 1870 cenus was listed as being from Georgia, however, the 1880 census listed her as being form North Carolina. The 1870 census indicate that she was the wife of Charles Stinson. It seems as though she came into the relationship with children with the surname of Coker. Also I have a marriage license, dated November 23, 1865 that reflect the marriage of the two with each with the surnames stated on the census of 1870 and 1880. By the way, the census for each or the years was taken Conech and Butler County Alabama, respectively. Sometimes there are incorrect States listed for individuals on the census reports.

I have followed Leonard around all over upper Arkansas. I wonder too who all his wives were. I find him in several Counties buying Land, many say he seperated from family alot and was on Cattle Ventures. So , whjo knows, he may have had children in several areas too.
My Dicey as she was called on her marriage record to my gg grandfather can't seem to be linked to anyone out there so far. However we do know from family stories passed down, that whe was born abt 1833/34 in Arkansas in section considered Indian Reservation Lands, at tht time it had been upper AR near MO border mostly. So we know she had to come from the Cokers in that area somehow. She was rumored in my family to have been part Indian. Parents unknown for sure, only info was her family had come from TN before coming to AR. This info per my now desc, great aunt who was her grandaughter. So this fits the family in Boone, Marion, Izard Co's of AR as being ours somehow. Leonard was the man we had wondered about, but, some say Dicey was not his daug., and the one in that line married someone else so many ??? who our woman belonged to then.

I have seen this Dicie also, but, my Dicey spelt her naem as Dicey on her marriage to John L Goates in 1852 in Pope Co Arkansas. Most Dicey, Dicy, Deca, Dicie Cokers are accounted for out there. My Dicey disappeared by 1860 and there are several family stories, one she must have died, another that she ran away and went back home, may have remaried again to cover her tracks. I do not see a marriage on any other Dicey who married again after 1858, when her last child by my g g grandfather was born to any one else however. So I have many questions, her daughter id name one of her children Leonard however. Several speculations as to why??? HELP Needed here!

Be happy to- Leonard is tricky and appears to have had several wives and I can find nothing at all that gives his wives names.
I am descended from Leonard's don Strander "Dudley" and his first cousin Jane Wood (d of George Wood and Nancy Coker Wood).
Have met other descendants of Leonard.
