Dear list,
Does anyone have copies of the above wills or full transcriptions that they
are willing to share? I only have abstracts of the wills of William Corker
and William Clay. Also in Coldham, Peter Wilson, English Estates of American
Colonists, American Wills and Administrations in the Prerogative Court of
Canterbury, 1610-1699. Baltimore, MD: Gen. Publ. Co., Inc., 1983. 72p.;
there is an entry for Susan Corker on page 7. Does anyone have this entry?
Kindest regards,
Beth G.
Dear list,
Here are the sources. Awhile ago we discussed the John Corker family . This
is all I know about John Corker. If any of you have original documents or
full transcriptions, I would appreciate a copy. Will send report on
preliminary research on his son Captain William Corker in the future. Hope
that someone will research this subject.
Kindest regards,
Beth G.

by Pat. Oct. 1639 & 650 acres pat. to John Corker 2 Dec. 1640. Signed:
John
Corker Wit.: Rand. Holte, Charles Barham, Geo. Watkin, Wm. Corker."
See Land entry dated 20 March 1656/57. This is the same tract of land. It
is
a fact that the son of John Corker was referred to as Captain William
Corker
or Will Corker. Will Corker is listed as a witness. There appears to be
either a transcription error or clerical error; and the names of
Cockerham
and Corker were interchanged.
Also in the transcription in the earlier deed, the 500 acres were
purchased
of a John Kempe on 24 Oct. 1639 and in this indenture he is called John
Casey.
44. Land (41) , Ellis Ventor, miller, sells to Roby. Babb, clerke, a mill
house and land at Ware Neck...was granted by deed of John Corker and
Dorthory, to Capt. Webster. Wit.: Thos. Warren, Wm. Hill, 06 Jan

45. Land (42) , Major Willm. Marriott, 1460 acs. Surry Co., known as Ware
Neck, 1150 acs granted Mr. John Corker 20 Oct. 1661 & by him & his son
Wm. sold to sd. Marriott, 1669 in Surry County, Virginia
"Major Willm. Marriott, 1460 acs. Surry Co., known as Ware Neck, neare
the

Mirells, &c. 1150 acs. granted Mr. John Corker 20 Oct. 1661 & by him &

pers:
Wm. Jellet, Rich. Booth, Jno. Booth, Ann Jenoway, Alice Prise, & a Negro
man
& woman."
This appears to be the same tract of land, note that John Corker and his
son
Wm. sold the land to Marriott. This deed does indicate a different date
for
the patent of John Corker and does not mention Kempe or Casey.
No date given on transcription, date estimated from other entries.

Could you give a date and birthplace for this William Coker? I am looking for one who was born about 1834 in Muscogee Co., GA.....I cannot find him after 1850, when he was about 16 years old.
Janice,
I am interested in this family. Do you have information on any of the
children? I assume your William was the son of Hiram and Elizabeth Whitten.
I am not directly related. Do you have any information on Hiram Coker, other
than he was in Walton County, Georgia before 1830 and married there in 1829?
Kindest regards,
Beth G.

Hi, Pat
Re: your reply to Barbara about the above Harriet, is this the dau of Armon Coker and Nancy Hill?
If so, I would like to know if you have any info on her 2 sisters, Nancy D and Jennie. I've been trying to varify that Jennie is my gr-grandmother who mar. Frank Lout in Shelby Co TX abt 1872. So far all that I've had to go on is the family story that she and her sister, (name unknown), came to Shelby Co and that her sister mar. a Mr. Cook.
I have determined that Nancy Dahlea Coker mar. Newton F Cook from records in Shelby Co. TX. But is she the Nancy D who is the dau of Armon Coker and Nancy Hill?
Anything you could contribute would be very much appreciated.
Lynn
Do you have informatin on Harriet A. Coker parents?
NOTE: Ezekiel Shelton Davis and Harriet Elizabeth Coker were my husband's
great-great-grandparents. Ezekiel b. 1838, Wayne Co., KY, d. 11/4/1892,
Marion Co., AK. Harriet, b. 8/22/1841, AK, d. 4/15/1880, ?. His
great-grandparents were Albert A. Davis and Sarah Trimble. Do you have names
of children of Ezekiel and Harrriet? Any information greatly appreciated.
