I have seen Charles Coker's birthplace listed as Devonshire, England, Fluvanna, Virginia and also South Carolina. (He is f/o Warren Coker, b. 1789-1791 in Burke County, North Carolina who m. MaryPolly Cunningham.) Some records show this Charles is s/o Charles Coker b. Devonshire or Somersetshire, England abt 1715. Other records have the 1715 Charles as s/o Unknown Coker b. abt 1695 in England.
Does anyone have any documented evidence on this family?

James Jasper Coker was the brother of my g-grandfather, Marion Jackson Coker. Their father was Johnathan/Jonathan Clark Coker. If you need any information on this line, contact me. Or - if you already have good information, perhaps you can help me. I'm looking for solid documentation (for the DAR) that connects Marion Jackson Coker to his parents, Johnathan/Jonathan Clark Coker and Frances Mayes Pentecost. Frances' father was William Pentecost, a veteran of the American Revolution. Even if you don't have this, it was good to see your posting. I had little information on James Jasper and Viola after they left Louisiana for Texas.
DUMB QUESTION......How does one view, save or print out this pic. It did
not come to me as an attachment. Thanks Char

James Jasper & Viola are my g-grandparents. Lora Honeycutt buried beside JJ is their granddaughter. Note the dates of their demise. They are buried in what's called a companion burial - 2 graves in 3 plots. They must have died of the same illness. Lora's parents, her mother was JJ & Violas daughter , are buried next to Viola in unmarked graves.

Larry, I believe Narcissa is the daughter of Elwood Sadler, maybe Narcissa James Sadler, in the 1860 census stated that Narcissas is a male but I think it should be Narcissa Female. What do you think? Henry's second son was named Elwood after William E. death.

As for my end of the Coker wall the search is slow but I did get invited to the Coker web site. There is a Coker reunion on May 21 in Zolfo Springs, Florida so I am working on photos ect. to take with me. I'm home sick today and was out yesterday due to some kind of stomach bug. It's sure no fun. I'm not usually sick or feel cold and this came with the chills.
Hope all is well with you. God bless and have a wonderful Easter.

Although Caleb Coker had a lot to do with early Hartsville, You may get some answers from Society hill, South Carolina
Caleb and Hannah Coker resided in Society Hill. He also had a general store there as well. His son James Lide Coker lived in Hartsville. The Cokers of Hartsville and Society Hill are my ancestors on my mothers side. I have not ran across any mention of a Mr. Smith in my research, if I do I will foward it to you.

Hi Jessica, I actually just put in "Fannie Crump Coker" and did a google search. I thought it was unusual enough that it might pull something up. I found the usgennet.org that lists a lot of cemeterys. I also did some searching yesterday and found out some info on the Cokers and Crumps and I put your info in my Family tree maker. So far I don't see a connection. But I going to keep adding information. My Great Uncle, Hubert Coker still lives in Dalton. Gordon Coker, his brother died last year.
Maybe you can ask your Dad about them.
