Hi..I have some information which needs to be corrected in this Thomas Grant Coker line. My grandfather was Will (Willie Taylor ) Coker , in Generation No. 2 ..he did marry Tishie Pickens, but the children you have listed as belonging to them is incorrect. you have their children listed as of Sam and Della King...Will and Tishie Pickens thildren were Mozelle, Joseph, Inez ( my mother ) Mamie, Taylor, Helen, and two which you don't list: Edward and Doyle. I would welcome an email from you if you would like to respond.thanks

Looking for desendants of William Buck Coker brn in VA settled in ARK with his large family 1818. I desend from Buck's son William and William's daughter Abigail, who married a Churchman. It says William's wife's name was forgotten and Abigail always claimed she was Cherokee. Just wondering if anybody has found anything new with this line. Would love to connect to any cousins.
Thanks!

Dwight,
Please state in full the information that you have on Mary Flake and Robert
Nathaniel Coker in Franklin Co., Georgia. If they were indeed in Franklin
Co., Ga. this may answer one of my mysteries, nice Xmas present.
Kindest regards,

Hello Dwight-
Thanksfor your responses. Yes, I have a copy of the original deed from John
Watson to Charlotte Coker, but it gives no indication of relationships.
I think that Charlotte Coker may be a daughter or sister to the Mary Coker
referenced in the deed, but have no proof.
And, I did not understand your reference in the second response re Mary
Snyder Flake and Robert Nathianiel Coker?? Is the connection simply that they were
in Franklin GA at some point or do you mean something else?
Cynthia

For some time now, I have been trying to figure out the apparent connection
between Cokers and Phillips in Franklin Co. GA. In particular, I have been
investigating the following events:
20th August, 1841 Franklin Co. GA:: Deed from John Watson, Junior to
Charlotte Coker mentions "Augusta Road bounded east by Mary Coker"
1841 Franklin Co. GA: Deed from Thomas Haynes to Thomas P. and John Phillips
says "Polly Phillips adjacent Mary Coker" (although neither Mary/Polly Coker
nor Mary/Polly Phillips show up in 1840 Franklin Co. census)
Aug 7, 1846 Franklin Co. GA: Charlotte Coker m. Francis Phillips
1850: can find no Francis or Charlotte Phillips in GA, but in Monroe Co. TN:
F. M. Philips 21 M student GA (Is the F. M. for Francis Marion?)
Charlottte 28 F GA
George 11 M GA
Then, in 1860 Towns GA:
George Philips M 21 GA
Caroline 17 F GA
Charlotte 40 F TN
(I believe that this is the same family from 1850, minus F. M. and with
George now married.)
On May 12, 1862 a George R. Philips enlists in Co. G, 34th GA Infantry in
Franklin Co. GA. All the rest of the Philips in this unit are kin to Williamson
Phillips from Franklin. George dies in Lexington KY in September, 1863 and
his widow is a Caroline.
After the war, I can not find any Charlotte or Caroline Phillips who match
the ones from 1860 Towns.
If anyone can shed any light on any of these people, I would be very
appreciative.
Cynthia
