Looking for some connection of John Coker of Brunswick Co. Virginia and
Francis Coker. One of John's children William was listed as having a son Francis.
Some years ago, I was in touch with Bruce Coker who had a lot of info on this
family. Certainly would like to get in touch with him again. Or anyone who
can help.
Thanks
Ann

Hi Pat,
I'm not sure how my great great grandfather Benjamin Harris was related to Simeon. Simeon's first cousin Braddock Harris Gilliam had a daughter named Martha who married a Carrol Harris, the son of Edward Garrett Harris. Edward Garrett Harris was also a first cousin to Simeon Harris. There is a Carrol Harris living with my great great grandparents in the 1860 Hopkins Census who matches his age. I don't know what relation Carrol was to Benjamin. I've been trying to find out if he was a brother and if he is the same one who married Martha Gilliam. Benjamin's daughter married Braddock Gilliam's son James T and I think his son William Harris might have married Braddock's daughter Cordelia.
Two of Benjamin Harris's granddaughters, Della Irene Harris and Annie Jewel Harris, married Simeon Harris Jr's sons, Roy and Monroe. Simeon Jr's daughter Jennie married William Carl Greer, a step-grandson of Benjamin Harris.

Since it has been 4 yrs since you posted your notice, you have probably figured out most of the info you were searching for. However, if you are still looking for Sarah Lucinda Coker that married Henry Harrison Baker in Kerrville, TX, then I might have more info for you. My husband is a descendent of H.H.Baker, and we still live in Kerrville. So, have many papers and tombstone photos, etc. Just let me know if you are still looking, or if you have info you think I could use.

This Jesse C. Coker was listed on one site as having 5 sons and 3
daughters, However the person who had this site is not deceased, but
nothing can be found except for one son James Monroe Coker b 1864 in

Hi Pat,
I don't know much about the Cokers. I had only suspected that my great great grandmother might have been a Coker because of a Mary Coker, age 50, and a Sarah Coker, age 13, living with my great great grandparents in the 1860 Hopkins County Census. I only found out that she was a Coker for sure a little over a month ago. I thought perhaps this William and John might be related. I would be interested in any information anyone has.
The Harrises also have Franklin County,TN roots. I think George W Coker's wife Bellazora is probably Simeon Harris's daughter. In the 1880 Census, Bellazora Coker is age 21. Simeon's daughter is age 11 in the 1870 Census. She is listed as age 3 in 1860.

Jimmie Neil,
Could you please post the information that you have on the parents of William Coker-b-January 7, 1820-Franklin Co., Tennessee; d- January 13, 1884; buried Sharp cemetery, Yantis, Wood Co., Texas? I have recently found out that my family line has Cokers in it. Won't it be a hoot if I am related to my husband's George Coker line? I have been working for years to find out what happened to George's wife, Bellazora Harris Coker. Do you know what happened to her? I did find that George had to post bond for the guardianship of his children, so something had to had happened to his wife, Bellazora. Thank you very much for your time & effort in this reply.
Bye, Pat-Arlington, Texas
