This message was answered to my reply to one of your original queries regarding COKER...
Have you tried the general Coker message board at Ancestry.com? I have seen J.C. and Estelle Edington or Edlington mentioned numerous times. I have been tracking my ggrandfather and ggrandmother, Richard Sanders Coker and Susan Wesley Coker. The U.S. census tells me that they lived in Handley in 1920. By the way, my father went to Polytechnic in Fort Worth. Good luck!
Dannie
Dwight...I should have known better. I spoke too fast. Not wanting to leave a
leaf unturned, I looked up the 1900 census of Stillwater, OK and found
Richard S. Coker and his wife, Susan F., just as you directed. In addition, I found
their daughter, Bonnie, her husband, Eustace Arthur Beyette, and the Beyette's
son, Hubert Ward Beyette, living in the home. Hubert Ward Beyette, then a
child of 8, was my father. This is exciting. Again, thank you.

I don't think so. My Richard Sanders Coker was born in Tenn. in approx. 1843. He married Susanne, or Susan, F. Wesley, born in Georgia in approx. 1851, on Dec. 16, 1866 in Smith, TX. The U.S. census of 1870 lists them in Garden Valley Beat, Smith, TX. In 1872 a daughter, A. Bonnie Coker, was born on March 20 in Bonham, Fannin Co., TX. The 1920 U.S. census finds them living in Handley, Tarrant Co, TX, ages 76 and 71. Richard and Susan Coker were my paternal grandparents, but I never knew them nor do I know the dates of their deaths. Thanks, Dwight, for all the work you do.

Thank you for your reply and for the links. They were very helpful in understanding this family.
I also notice the surname BUDDIN at one of the links, which is also a name I'm very interested in.
I haven't been able to find much on John COKER but now atleast I have more info to go on.
Infact, a BUDDIN is at the root of my interest into This COKER family.
If I may be permitted to email you personally and fill in the gaps of what I'm looking for in hope you may be able to help me fill in some gaps in my own Family Tree.
Thank you very much and I look forward to your reply and permission.
