In the 1850 census of Madison CO., TN, there is a James Coker listed with
wife, Ellen. Both born in North Carolina and both 38 years old. Living a
few houses down is a John COKER, age 68, born NC, Baptist Minister. Also
living in same home as John is a Rebecca Coker, age 80, born in NC. Does
anyone know anything about this family? Is John the father of James and who
is Rebecca?

your in luck - you can find all kinds of info on this family by
going to:
www.silasturnbo.com on the Google website he wrote a lot
about the Coker family history in Arkansas. If you do not have any luck bringing this site up - try Cyndi's List and go to
Boone County AR history - then try the Turnbo connection or maybe just Cokers.
If your not able to find anything, let me know.

That being an unusual name, I found this name as a daughter of Joseph Dempsy Coker (little Joe) & wife Ainee ( "cherokee")
and the age would have about fit for her.
Did you ever get any more info on this Joseph and wife?
Thank you.
Who is this???? Anyone got any Ideas?

Anyone:
Does any one know whether Nancy Clark Macknzie was ever married to a
Mackenzie?
Could Nancy's mother have been a second wife to James Clark? Nancy is named
in the will of James Clark. Whitley, Senior witnessed James Clark's will, Was
she Clark's Daughter. Could her first husband been killed in the Rev. War?
Any information as to whether Benjamin and whitley are the other sons
mentioned in John cooker's will in Nothampton County would be appreciated.
BigCoker(a)aol.com
From Fred Coker @ BigCoker(a)aol.com
Does anyone have proof that Whitley Senoir married nancy Mackenzie? We know
That Whitley, Senoir witnessed the will of James Clark in Nothampton County.
Benjamin and Whitley, Senoir were on the Tax rolls of Nothampton in 1780.
Whitley, Senior came to Sumter Districit In the early 1790's. bought land
from Needham Lee.
Sold land to Henry, Phillip, Whitley, JR., John Brand, and others. Could
Whitley, Senior have married a Clark girl? Joshua Did ( Silvah), Mary married
a Coker, Coker's
witnessed will of Angelica Lewis ( I believe she was a clark before Marriage)
We have heard in the Family that Whitley, Jr. Married Ann Ingram, can,t prove
it , Yet. Any Information would be helpful on proving that Benjamin and
Whitley, SR. were sons of
John of Nothampton County. They were all there to-gether. BigCoker(a)aol.com
