mother is Marguerite Eunice Coker (maiden) who married Richard Lee Johson.
Richard and Marguerite had 8 children Suzanne, Ricky, Charles, Timothy,
Tammy, Christine, Richard, and Sherry who legally changed her whole name. I
know that Audrey Ellen Johnson is my great grandmother who married Claude
Edward Coker. According to a 1920 or 1930 census record Claude E. Coker was
living with Henry, Emma, Bertha, Frank, and Noah Cross as a grandson to the
family. This is where it gets confusing. I don't have much contact with
others in my family other than suzanne, and I seen my aunt Christine johnson

Hello, I am related to Audrey Ellen, and Claude Edward Coker. Please email me at johnson.crystal(a)comcast.net
We have a book entitled "The Cokers of Carolina, a Social Biography of a
Family", by George Lee Simpson, Jr. Published by the University of North
Carolina Press, 1956. It is about the family of Caleb and Hannah Lide Coker
and their ten children. They lived in Darlington County, SC. Additionally
we have another book of entitled "Mr D. R., A Biography of David R. Coker
by James A Rogers with Larry E. Nelson, published by Coker College Press,
Hartsville, SC, 1994. He is the grandson of Caleb and Hannah. David's
parents were James Lide and Susan Stout. Hartsville is the site of Coker
College, now a coed college.
May this shed some light--Caarolyn R. Coker
