Looking for information on Moses Coker born about 1810 who resided in Chesterfield, S. C. I believe that Moses Coker was the father of Jesse Coker, born 1835 in Chesterfield, S.C. who married Pernina Swanner and William Coker born around 1841 who married Sarah Ann (?) and Moses C. Coker who was born November 1, 1843 (died October 14, 1916) and married Elizabeth Ann ? (July 23, 1839-October 7, 1912). Moses C. and Elizabeth Ann are both buried in Chesterfield County, S. C. Jesse and William lived in the Anson and Union Counties of N. C. prior to their deaths. I believe that there could have been 2 daughters also, Mary (bn. abt. 1837) and Martha (bn. abt. 1834)
Jesse Coker and William Coker both served in the confederate army and were killed oe died during the civil war.
Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated as I have definitely hit a "brick wall" on them

Dear Peggy,
Thanks so much for the information. After much research, I feel that we are probably related to the Solomon line because of logistics and names. So much for proof! Mary Coker is buried in Griffin, GA and her son, Emory Spear Coker, is buried in Knoxville, TN. Good thoughts on the middle name.
Thanks again,
Pat Coker Schuebert

There are plenty of Mary Cokers in my line but I'm not
sure about your Mary. I have an uncle that was named
Harold Emory Coker. You might check under Mary Spear
because a lot of middle names are mothers maiden names.
I am also in the Henderson line. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. Since I posted my query to you, I have found a Nancy in Shelby Co., TX, who could have been the sister of my M. Jennie COKER and who was married to a Newton COOK, but there is a question about whether her maiden name was BURROWES or COKER. Does the 1st name of Nancy help at all? She was born 1844/1846 in TN.

I am searching for a Warren J. Coker born in 1928 or Sarah Suzanna Coker born in 1926, both in Scurry Co., Texas. Are they still living? Were they part of a larger family that was split up?
Thanks.

Actually the Lout last name does sound familuar. I had spoken with my Aunt, who still lives in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and I believe she had mentioned that my Great Grandfathers Sister had married a Lout. I will do my best to find out more. And any help you can give will be appreciated as well. And yes I was told that my Grandfather Haggard Coker was Indian. I know that Vannie's Mother was a Susan or Susie Tucker, who lived in Florence, Al until her death. I do not have any dates.
Pam
Would like to have the website address for the Coker's. I am researching Coker's in the Tennessee area. Mainly the Giles & Lawrence County area. I know I am a decendant of Asa Keely Coker any help is appreciated.
