Dear List Members: Does anyone have the current email address for Marcelle

Surname: COKER
-------------------------
I received the following response. This could be the same Joseph Coker
that died in Chatham County, NC around 1774. This Joseph Coker was married
to Milsey Coker, and court document in Chatham County names the orphaned
children as Issac, Abraham, Jacob and Malachi. This Joseph's sons were
in Elbert County, Georgia between 1790-1800.

Surname: COKER, FERGUSON, HENDRICKS, CARTER, HART
-------------------------
Joseph Coker and wife Mildred Coker were in Edgecombe County, South Carolina
at least during the years 1758-1765.
They lived in an area on the north side of Swift Creek joining Meadow branch.
Families they were associated with were William Hendrick(Hendricks)and
his heirs William Hendrick, Joshua Hendrick, William Buckingham & wife
Sarah, & Arthur Hood & wife Mary: Jesse Hendrick & wife Sarah(maybe): Jacob
Carter & wife Middleton: Kindred Carter: Thomas Hart & wife Patience: and
Isaac Ferguson & wife Elizabeth(Eliza)& son Nimrod Ferguson and a Jane
Ferguson.
Who are the parents of this Joseph Coker and did he migrate to another
county or state? Who were his children? Thanks for any information. Beth
Dear Brad: In your posting of August 2, 1998, you are the gggg grandson of
Joseph Coker of Chatham County, NC. I am also a direct descendant. Do you
have any information on Jacob, the brother of Isaac, and who the wife and
children of this Jacob were, birthdates, marriage dates, etc.? I am a
descendant of this Jacob. Also, do you have this same information on
Malachi? Thanks for any help. Joe Coker
Dear Marcelle: In a previous posting Joy had stated that you have the
children of Malachi Coker. Is this Malachi the son of Joseph and Milley or
Milsey Coker, born before 1775? If so, we would appreciate the names of
these children of Malachi and how you obtained this information. There was
a later Malachi, and if you know how the two were related this would also be
appreciated. Thanks, Joe Coker
Dear Suzanne: In reference to your posting of May 23, 2000, what
information do you have which supports that Charlton, Newell, Alsea, and
Sintha were children of Jacob ? These children were apparently born born
before the marriage of a Jacob Coker to an Elizabeth Neese on February 16,
1845. Could this have been a second marriage for your Jacob, or is it
perhaps a different Jacob? Who were your Jacob's parents, and what was his
birthdate? Our Jacob's parents were Joseph Coker, who died in 1775, and was
married to a Milley or Milsey Coker, maiden name unknown. Our Newell Coker
was married to Catherine Cunningham in Elbert County, Georgia in 1825. They
had a son named Jacob, birthdate uncertain. Could this be your Jacob? Any
information would be appreciated. Thanks, Joe Coker
To Mr. Lowell E. Coker: On a posting to the Coker list on February 21,
1999, you mentioned that you have information on Malachi Coker. It would be
most appreciated if you could send this information, including any of his
children, wife, and parents. This Malachi would have been a son of Joseph
and Milsey, and would have been born before 1775. I am a descendent through
Newell Coker, and would also appreciate any information you may have on
Newell. Thanks, Joe Coker
Sue,
They may be my line of Cokers. We were scattered all around Oklahoma in
Okla. City, Duncan, Ringling, Walters, Lawton, Shawnee, Okla. We came from
Arkansas (somewhere in the mountains is all I remember) and Kerr Co. Texas.
Jasper Coker m. Mennie Burks their son,George E. Coker b. 1876 TX. d. 1966
OK. married unknow having at least, Buster Coker b. 191? d. 19??. George
then married Lillie Pearl (unknown) having one son Lester Coker b. 1921
d.1978. Letha, Lois, Sybil, Betty are Coker women all around the same time.
However, I am not sure how. I just remember them as my Aunts.
We are just now getting started on our Coker line. Do you have information
that might connect these Cokers to your Clinton Cokers?

I once lived in Clinton, OK. There were people there who decended from
Cokers who settled near, I believe it was the White River.
Email me if you think that you need to get in touch with these.
I don't know anyone doing research on the net in this particlular group.
Thanks Sue
