Dear Listers:
We found the names of Edward Coyle and Patrick Coil/Coyle in the Revolutionary
War films at the library. They both are shown as being in the 11th Pennsylvania
Regiment of the Continental Army. Edward was promoted to Corporal 1 Jan 1778
and Patrick is a Private.
Does anyone have these Coil/Coyle men in their files? If so, do you know where
they took the Oath of Allegiance? Do you have their places of birth or the
names of their parents.
We are looking for the parents of Mary Coil who married William Davidson about
1789. William was a Sgt in the 11th PA Regiment. Is Mary Coil related to
either Edward or Patrick? We believe that Mary was "of marrying age" when
William was discharged in 1789. Mary lived another 18 years after William's
death in 1831.
Thank you for any help or guidance. Hope to hear from someone soon.
Kay and Larry Davidson
