We are seeking any information on the parents and sibling of Mary Coil who married William Davidson.
The family history is that William (born 1757) was 18 years old he enlisted in the Continental Army. He served throughout the entire war. After the war was over, me married Mary Coil in either PA or MD.
Shortly after their marriage Mary put a piece of meat on to cook and then went on an errand to a neighbors house. She was gone too long and the piece of meat caught fire and burned the cabin and all they had. The fire burned the papers William needed to claim a pension for his service.
After the fire they moved to Hickory, Washington County, PA where their two children, Elizabeth and Samuel were born.
In 1802 William bought land in Jefferson County, OH near where East Springfield is now. In 1806 the family moved to Jefferson County with neighbors named Wells and Hammond. William died in 1831 in his home and Mary died in 1848. Both are buried on the farm. We have the family from William and Mary in OH but need some help, suggestions, on how to find Mary's family. Thank you for the time you've already given to me.
