Searching for any information relating to the ultimate fate of one Jacob COHN and his wife, Rachael. Per the 1880 census of Michigan City, IN, he was born in Prussia c. 1828, while she was b. around 1845. Children: Hannah, Mollie/Martha, Ida, Adah, and Charles.
The census shows him to have been the owner of a boot and shoe store. I know that this family was living in the 3rd Ward of Chicago in the 1870 census, p. 292.
I suspect but cannot prove that the daughter, Adah, is identical to one of my Grt Grandmothers, but in order to prove that, I really need to know what happened to Jacob and his wife. I haven't found them after the 1880 census anywhere.
Thanks,
Larry
