Did Daniel have any sisters? Did Daniel's family have any leather or shoe businesses in the Los Angeles area? My grandmother was born Lillian Cohn to someone in the Los Angeles area who had a shoe store, or whose family had a shoe store. She was born sometime between 1885 and 1895. I have been unable to find any records of her except on my mother's birth certificate. Lillian died about 1916. Please let me know if any of this matches. Thanks. Carol cblann(a)futureone.com
Hi. Sometime between 1885 and 1895, my grandmother was born to a family named Cohn in Los Angeles. In searching the census records, I believe her father was named either Adolphe or Julius. This is because both of those names appear as owners of shoe stores in LA at the time and my grandfather always said my grandmother's people owned shoe stores in LA. My grandmother's name was either Lillian or Lucille and she married my grandfather, Percy Cunningham Hosmer around 1910. My mother, Harriet Isabelle Hosmer was born in 1913, and Lillian/Lucille died when she was 3 years old. Is there any possibility of a match with your grandfather? My e-mail address is cblann(a)futureone.com Thanks, Carol
