Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Thanks for the tip. However, I did examine that book thoroughly when I was at the Library in Salt Lake City last year. Unfortunately, it had nothing to help with this puzzle. There is one Alathes who was married in the 1830's that can't be the one we are looking for as she would have still been having children in her 80's! I've tried every female Cogswell I can find that was born round the right time (1850 or - 8 years) and all have other spouses and children or died too young. I've also tried to see if there was someone with a different maiden name in case she had been married to a Cogswell before she married Stephen Hungerford, but so far nothing.
So far everyone seems to be getting their information from other posted trees. I am hoping to find out who was the oroginal one to post the info, but so fsr no luck. I'm just too stubborn to give up, especially having finally broken through another brick wall in my family. That got we chsrged to tackle this one.
