from Decendents of John Cogswell by DJ Cogswell, Martin was the son of Ferris and Mrs. Phebe Hawley (Hurd) Bristol. Ferris Cogswell is also listed in the DAR Patriot Index, p. 142.
The Cogswell Family Association's newsletter, the Cogswell Courier, is planning an article of Cogswells in the American Revolution, in the December 2011 issue.
