Kim,
You've evidently fallen out of my address book. Drop me a line at jack dot parker4 at verizon dot net. Ancestry seems to be deleting messages with address style info, and no longer offering email addresses of interested parties.
j.

Jack, thanks for the web address.
Here are some of my notes on Cyrus written several years ago--
Family tradition according to Hannah Charlotte Blossom's granddaughter Esther VOGAN BLAND [told to me abt 1985, Indiahoma, OK], "It has been said that Charlotte's folks (COGSWELL) came from England on ship--they died and she was adopted by the BLOSSOMS."
[Note -- I have found no indication that this tradition is true--at least for Charlotte. . . I think Charlotte's father Cyrus BLOSSOM may have been adopted. . . and may have been a COGSWELL.]

Very interesting. They do not give Cyrus's age, but if he's having kids starting (at latest) 20 years later (1850-7=1843), that would put him at a fairly young age. Ooooh, there is so much here to supposition on... Saturday Nov 1 - Why the first of the month? Saturday? Why is this recorded in the "Governor and council"? Why Vermont? The "tale" had something to do with ships in my mind/imagination.
Where would that be physically? Burlington? Kim? I'm not sure which avenue to pursue this on - or how, do you have thoughts? I'm headed up to Vermont in a week, Burlington is a bit of a stretch - is that where I should be looking?
... and Karen - thank you for this nugget.
Regards,
Jack Parker
