I am currently working with the book "The Cogswells In America" by E.O. Jameson, Copywrighted 1884. I am working from the first Cogswell (John) and working to the present. "Thomas was the son of Moses who was the son of Nathaniel, who was the son of John, who was the son of William who was the son of John who originally sailed from England on the Angel Gabriel which was shipwrecked in August, 1635, off the coast of Peniquot Point, Maine, and then moved on down to Ipswich, Mass, where they originally settled. Thomas and Sarah (Adams) had two children, Caroline Helen b. July 7, 1820; m Nov. 23 1837, Henry E Churchill; and a son William F b April 10, 1827; m. Oct. 30, 1850, Louisa Patterson. Paramento Adams, Sarah's father, and family removed about 1805 to Western New York. They were among the first settlers of a choice tract of land called "The Holland Purchase."

Is anyone on this list research the Thomas C. Cogswell of Alexander, Genesee Co., NY and Attica, Wyoming Co., NY, and his descendants? Thomas was born 15 Feb 1792 in Canterbury, NH, son of Moses and Hannah (Foster) Cogswell. He married Sarah Adams, daughter of Parmenio and Eleanor (Wells) Adams on 28 Feb 1819, in Genesee Co., NY. He died 15 Sep 1874 in Alexander, NY. I’m a Cogswell descendant, but not a descendant of Thomas. I did some research on the family only because I live in Genesee County, NY. I’m looking to share the information I have found.
