Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I don't understand WHO is making this inquiry, and I don't know HOW to reply
to this inquiry. Help??? Don Cogswell, Volunteer Historian, Cogswell Family Association, Inc.
--------------------
Hi Don and everyone else! :-)
Just a reminder about gatewayed messages from the Cogswell Message Board. These messages come to the list with this disclaimer at the top.
"This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list."
Which means that postings to the Message Board are copied to this list.
When responding to gatewayed or copied messages, you'll need to use the blue link provided in the body of the message to respond to the poster.
http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.cogswell/255/mb.ashx
If you send the reply back to the list only, the board poster might not see your reply if he/she is not subscribed to the list. Now with the gc-gateway(a)rootsweb.com address showing, you really need to go the Message Board to post your reply. You can no longer reply directly to the poster. You'll need to register a username and password before you can post to the Message Board. This is still a free service but the registration is to help discourage spammers on the board.
Also sometimes you can find the user's e-mail address on the Message Board by clicking on the highlighted in blue username in the top left corner of the posting.
Hope this helps and Happy New Year to all of you!

I don't know if there is any connection but there was a Lydia married to a
George Kind in our family. They lived in Mass when I visited them in the
early 1950s.Later I found them in R.I. They had 2 daughters, one named
Marilyn.
Grandmother was Celia Cogswell before she married a George Kind. They were
originally from the Hoboken N.J. area and upstate NY before that.
