Hey, I read this after responding to another of your postings.
The George Cogswell, my ggf was from Burlington, just down the road from Union City where I grew up. All the Cogswells I were familiar with were Geo. and his son Archie, my great uncle, whom I remember only slightly. My mother is still alive at 93, and I can ask her. I'm in hopes you can give me some info on Adolphus.
There is another family name we were given by someone who claimed we were her distant relatives. I think it was John Hardebaugh. I think he was supposed to have come from NY state, too.
Hope to hear from you soon. Dave btw, who are you and what's your real name?

I'm searching for the relatives of Adolphus Cogswell, my GGgrandfather. He was supposedly from NY State.
His son, George settled in Calhoun County in S. Michigan and married Katherine Burghart/Burghardt/Burkhart.
If you don't know of this family, do you know anyone with any sort of comprehensive knowledge of various Cogswells?
Dave Donovan, Cincinnati

I had a great-grandfather George Cogswell who was the son of Adolphus Cogswell. George was born around the 1870's and lived in Calhoun County Michigan. Adolphus was supposed to have moved from New York, but we're not exactly sure about the city.
Might you have any info on our relatives or know anyone with any significant accumulation of info on the Cogswells?
Regards, Dave Donovan, Cincinnati

On the back of the picture of Cynthia Hewitt Cogswell, listed as her birthday - there appears to be "26", with the 6 "erased" and the number 0 written in. It is possible that the date of Cynthia's birth was altered by a later geneation.
