Lucy Foster was abt 13 yrs old when her grandmother died. If Anna Mason was
her favorite grandmother, it is very possible she named her first son after
her, and the name was also importrant enough to have been given to a second
son, when the first one died. According to the Sharon Burying Ground
records, they had at least one son named Mason who died who died 22 Oct
1778, in his 4th year. I am in the process of getting the microfilm of the
Sharon, CT, Vital records from the FHL, to try and verify all this, and get
better birthdates on the children.
I had been looking at these Mason boys for years and always wondered how
they came abt their name. Maybe we now have the answer.
