Our family is from County Mayo and my great-great grandfather Peter came over in 1850. Worked in a stone quarry in Ireland as well as in the PA. (wife was Mary Gallagher). We do not know if anyone came over with him. I have no clue why the brothers went to Omaha and was thinking maybe your family was linked and that may be why. Our name was not changed either.

Casey, Anthony is not listed in 1891. In 1891 it' s listed as Coggins and McNalley. Pop and mineral water. (John J Coggins and P J McNalley). In 1893 John J is listed as labor at Montgomey and McNalley ( Samuel J Montgomery and P J McNalley). Soda and water. He is not listed in 1894. Where is your family from in Ireland? Hope this helps. Do you know if your family was always Coggins? We were told the name was changed when he came over. Thanks for any help you can give. Donna

I can't believe I forgot I posted this!
When you say you saw John J. in the city directory and he was involved in Coggins McNally, does that mean his occupation was listed? Can you tell me exactly what it said? (I no longer have an ancestry subscription). I am so very interested in this because John J. was my great-grandfathers brother. I only know of him living in Pittston, PA though, where he owned a confectionery business. I wonder if 'your' family is the reason mine moved to Omaha. I couldn't/can't find a reason why they would have moved their (my great-grandfather) business to Omaha-but maybe they had family already there!
Also what is Montgomery McNally? Was it another bottling business?
