I have been researching my wife's side of the family and having some difficulty in my research.
Let me start here:
James T. Coggins married Elizabeth Degnan in 1888,
Nashua N.H.
They had seven children:
Anne G.
James W. moved to N.Y.
John T. became an Atty and moved to N.J.
Catherine T.
Cecelia
Elizabeth L.
Mary H.
The rest of the children remained local.
The information I am trying to find is where in Ireland this family originates. James Coggins fathers name is elusive. In one record he is called John Coggins in another record he is Owen Coggins and yet a third record Patrick Coggins. James 's mother is called Bridget ( Flynn ) Coggins.
Both James and his sister Catherine came into the country in 1880 according to the 1900 census at the age of 13 and his sister at the age of 18. I can find James working and living in New Haven, Connecticut. Then he appears in Nashua, New Hampshire and marries in 1888 and his sister in 1889.
I can't tell if he came with his sister alone or if the parents came with them. I've checked ships records from many different locations from Canada thru Boston down to New Haven, Conn. with no results. I've also checked naturalization records for James with no results.
Can anyone help based on the information I have given.
Either reply to this message or contact me at ARC4651(a)aol.com my name is Roland

I am searching for my grandmother's family. Her name was Mildred Griffin, her father was Alex Griffin, and her mother was Alabama "Bama" Coggins. I do not know any more information than this at moment, but if you know anything about them, please let me know. They were from the Lancaster County area of South Carolina at the time of my Grandmothers birth, 17 May 1913. Thanks for helping.
