Okay everyone. I have been researching my family history.I am going to list what I know. If anyhting jumps out at someone, please email me at jrcogginsphotography(a)gmail.com.
My grandfather was Robert Earl Coggins (1928 - 2007)
His father was Earl A. Coggin (1903 - 1932)
Earl had two brothers: Herman E. Coggin (1898 to 1927) and Edward Lee Coggin (1906 - 1956)
Earl's father was William A Coggin (1871 - 1928) William married Georgia M. Stewart (1881 - 1922)
I believe William's father was also a William. He was born in 1825. If anyone is tracing this line, please email me directly. Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Our meeting is 3 weeks from today so this is the last call but get me the surnames. Thanks.
Please send me the surnames that you are interested in discussing by or before 4/15 & I'll pass this on to Lea & she can bring her files of these names. This way we can just introduce ourselves & then get started on exchanging of information & won't have to state what names we are interested in & this will give us more time.
Several people had suggested using Montgomery Community College so we would have access to the internet but only 3 people expressed an interest in using MCC when I sent out an e-mail asking people which place they wanted to meet so we will go ahead & meet at Eldorado Community Bldg. again this year.
This will be the 13th year that this reunion has been held in Eldorado, N.C. at the Eldorado Community Bldg. to exchange information & share stories. This year we will be meeting on Saturday April 26th at 10:00 am. Also you do not have to bring any food since this is the day that the Uwharrie Fire Dept. has their semi-annual BBQ fund raiser.
This year we will be discussing some of the other early settlers of Montgomery Co. beside the Harris family. The other lines are: Henderson, Hearne, Morgan, Smart, Dennis, Russell, Coggin[s], Taylor, Talbert [ Tolbert ], Hall, Grissom, Morris, Steed, Tucker, Sanders [ Saunders ], & Cranford . Also any other names that anyone would like to bring up. Please let me know any other surnames that you want to add.
Please go the following web site to register http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~westharris/ & click on Register for 12the annual gathering & then when you see Register flashing click on it & send your e-mail. If U have a problem registering at the site e-mail me direct.
If anyone has any information on any of these families please come
& bring the info with you. Also bring your laptops, scanners, printers, copiers, flash drives, & hard copies of your information. It was decided to open this up to more lines of people & hopefully increase our knowledge of the early settlers of Montgomery Cty.Please let me know if you are planning to come on this date & what you plan to bring. Thanks.
Jim
