That is fantasic but I have to get some info from my mother re my dads background as it is very sketchy. His parents died when he was tweleve and he ran away to sea from Hull.
He then joined the army, 2nd Dragoon Guards.
His brother Jack and sister Nell stayed in Hull and went to an orphanage.
I will post new info as i go but I will be joining the uk web site as i need to get uk records as well
regards
George.

My Coggins are from Hull as well! I've traced them back to the 1700's!

I am a Coggin and I live in Texas. I own a book on the Coggin klan that is traced back to England. Roy Coggin wrote the book and I found him on the internet and I put him in contact with a relative that was tracing our roots. We always thought were of German descent until finding him. He gave me a book he wrote and shortly after that, he and his wife were killed in a car wreck. We found out that we were linked by one relative and were thrilled to have found new cousins and to find we were traced back to England. We also found out that we were kin to Coggins, Coggan, etc. many name changes still linked us to them.
I am from Texas. Many relatives live in the southern states but alot of them are from Texas.
Mary(Coggin)Russell

I am the son of George Coggin born in Hull, Yorkshire, UK.
He was married to LIllian Coggin, now aged 94 for just under 60 years.
I am the only child. So strange to have same chiristian names as my folks.
My dad had a brother and sister Nell and Jack who both lived in the north of England. Now both passed on.
I did not realise how many people carried the name Coggin until I looked
regards
