Thank you.. Yes, I did note that you had Matilda Coggeshall on your list as a child of Pearce hors well Coggeshall and it is the missing link I needed.
There are a number of Benjamin's in the Franklin lines that I have come across. It can be confusing/
thanks again

Judy,
Had you checked carefully my posting on this thread on Jan 21, 2008, you would see that I had listed Matilda as the 5th child of Pearce, based on the listing in The Coggeshalls in America.
I was surprised to see this book listing Marcus as a son of Benjamin Franklin (presumably of Philadelphia, but not so stated). I supose that there could have been another Benjamin Franklin who was born and raised in Bristol, RI - but the book should have stressed a more accurate lineage for this Benjamin. I do suspect that your listing of his parentage is the accurate one.

Thanks Pete, I believe I have emailed w/ Sandy previously on another Franklin family member.
I could not find Matilda Coggeshall on any documents as to her being from Pearce Horswell Coggeshall. Thus what you have provided to me is greatly appreciated. I have Marcus being a son of Elisha his father being Lemuel, then Record Franklin, to John Franklin and he to James Franklin whom was Benjamin Franklin's brother - the first Benjamin Franklin. I keep checking to make sure I am not wrong.
I live in RI. We go often to Bristol to Colt's state park where there is a cemetery on the grounds. Four generations of Franklin's buried there, my father, his father, Marcus and Marcus A. Coggeshall Farm is a historical spot that is next to Colt's state park and it is lovely.
I will get back when I am able to do more accurate research

This is Sandy's husband Pete Coggeshall. Below I provided information on Pearce Horswell and listed his children with all information coming from the 1930s book "The Coggeshalls in America." Now there are questions about one of Pearce's children, so I will provide all of the information this book has on her:
Matilda Coggeshall, b Bristol, RI Oct 21, 1813; d Bristol, RI Jan 7, 1895; m Bristol, RI March 8, 1832 to Marcus Franklin, son of Benjamin Franklin. He was born and died in Bristol.
Issue:
- Mary Jane Franklin, b Bristol, RI; m Bristol, RI, John Hubbard.
- Ann Maria Franklin, b Bristol, RI; Jan, 1836; d Bristol, RI April 2, 1837
- Benjamin Franklin, b Bristol RI; d young.
- Marcus Franklin, b Bristol, RI; m Gerodine Munroe, daughter of Joseph & ___ (Telbee) Munroe.
There is a footnote on Matilda as follows:
Did she afterward marry at Providence, RI on Sept 18, 1864, Robert A Niles?
Hope this helps. Pete Coggeshall
