Hello List,
Thank you all for answering my sos to keep the list going. I hope we can continue now and help each other.
The change from Coggon to Coggins made me think and I have had several spellings in my list.
They were Coggan, Coggon, Coggin/s Coggen and Cogan. I found a lot of Cogans and had to sort them out but some were mine so it is worth looking under odd spellings.
This is not to do with this list but it will give you an example of how spellings can throw you out.
I was looking unsuccessfully for Job Wright. After a long time of searching everything I could think of and saying the name over and over again someone suggested another place to look. I did and found him under Joe Bright. If you say Job Wright over and over again you actually say Joe Bright so its worth saying your names to see if they could be anything else.
Thats all for now. Hope you found it useful and interesting.
cheers,
Gladys.
Hi
My Coggin interests are latterly in Hull, but back to William Coggon
and Elizabeth Crackel of Owston Ferry in the late 1700's. I have no
idea who his father was as yet (William is an idea as it's the
'family name'...)
So we are all still here...
Sue
Well . . . My interest is COGGAN. . . The branch from Lincolnshire,UK
to Canada to USA.
George Laross Coggan

Is there anyone out there. The list seems to have died. If you are
there please repost your interests and get things going again.
My interests are James Coggon of Crowle, his father John Coggon of
Crowle and his father who could also be John.
Cheers,
Gladys.
