Hi Carol and Gladys,
I find a John Coggan christened 11 Nov 1820 at Epworth. Parents were Robert
and Ann. I do not see any record for a James born at Epworth after 1827.
The James Coggan list simply stops at 1827. There are a lot of Coggans at
Epwort going way back to records from the 1500's, just as in Haxey where my
line lived. The two villages are not far apart.

Hi Carol,
So far I have not had any luck with your Coggons. I have the right names as
my ggrandfather was James son of John born Crowle, but I can not find any to
fit in with your dates. I will keep trying.
cheers.
Gladys.
Hi Roy
Many thanks for your good wishes. I also, don't have a lot of time - looking
forward to retiring in a couple of years when I hope to put more effort into
tracing my other lines - the Brook(e)s name's everywhere! I chose my
paternal Grandmother's line of Coggan/Coggon/Coggins because they were
unique here in the North-west town of Stockport - the continual name changes
didn't fool me one bit. Problem started when I traced them to t'other side
of England - there's more of 'em in Lincs.
Good luck with your own research
cheers
Carol

Hello Carol.
Welcome to the list. I hope we can help you.
Do you have any names or dates for Coggons in Epworth or nearby villages.
Mine were from this area and I have quite a lot of details of ones who do not
belong to me.
cheers,
Gladys.

Hello
This is my first posting to this (or any) list so hope I get it right. My
interest is Coggan/Coggon in Epworth, Lincolnshire and Coggan/Coggon/Coggins
in Stockport, Cheshire.
Hope someone's there as this list seems very quiet.
Cheers
Carol
