A longer explanation Gail and I hope it will help, though many already
experienced the issue. I am no expert on software of course as I cut some of
the worst code around.
I think probably all of us at one time or another have received and email
from someone that goes something like this:
"I have installed an anti spam program and will not receive email from
anyone unless they are in my address book. To get in my address book, please
click on the following URL and fill out the form. After that I will receive
your email"
In person to person email it is up to both parties to agree to the
arrangement, but that doesn't work with a mailing list..........except in
some cases you can put an accept mail from a certain URL on your computer.
When posts to the message boards are gatewayed to the companion mailing
lists, and a non member with mail block posts a message to the board, that
message will bounce to the admin of the list..............or in some cases
it will.
That broken bat outfit AOL has been buggy for years, and so causes many mail
problems for many people.......most who do not use AOL.
I think Rootsweb will be working on this problem.....which may actually be a
bug in their new software.
Cheers all.
Don
