As most know I am from Alaska and living in Oregon now. Anchorage wasn't bad
but I moved friends to Valdez in mid winter. The snow was up to the bottom
of the windows on the second floor. We dug a tunnell from the driveway,
which had been plowed, to the front door to get the furniture in. In the
winter I ran snow plows or sand truck or both so in one night I removed
plenty of snow. When we plowed the streets people would occasionally shake
their fists at us because we unavoidable (with a road grader) left a berm
across their driveway.
I don't miss that part of Alaska at all, but I sure do miss the summers.

Lee, you are lucky your County Road Super has a soft heart!
Here in Holyoke in a sheltered area I have 22 inches of snow. Lots of
drifts
where the wind could reach.
Happy Holidays to all,
Vicki
