Logan – almost done with another township’s family histories. May be just coincidence,
but with the number of pages added in the past few months, the number of FreeFind searches
seems to be increasing.
Yuma -
Added some pages to the Robb section- the Sechrist family was prominent in Robb, Wray and
Vernon, William Fitzgerald was a Civil War veteran dying in 1894, and a page on the Bunn
family.
Added a page on the Means family of Idalia. Although they didn't stay long, one son
was a U.S. Senator for a short time.
Months ago I'd posted a dozen pages on families in Witherbee (far northeast part of
the county) and just now realized I hadn't put them on the index. But Freefind or
Google would have still found them if anyone was searching, so I don't feel too
guilty.
One of those is Zanetta Belden- daughter of William Orville Belden buried in Holyoke. She
married Edward Shafer of Holyoke, they moved to Fruita and Paonia, and Zanetta died in
1908, leaving three young children.
Added a page on Ellis family north of Eckley, and then moved into Eckley, then to Salida.
As I recall, Tommy was about my age, and a pretty good left-handed pitcher.
M.D. I have a few pics from what was once the Hale, CO area. One is of the soddy that my
mil was born in, a farm sale, and a couple others of family members. If you are
interested, let me know. I'm pretty sure that was Yuma Co.
