I hope you've voted in the runoff election if you are registered. You have until 8/21
to vote to choose between Tina Vickery and me. More of the same or a new perspective?
What do you want?
I did find it interesting myself that Tina has been in office for a year, and has
previously served as the National Coordinator, did nothing really to promote the Project,
and after my campaign page was posted, she decided to say she wants to spend the coming
year promoting the project to other outside sources. What happened this year or during her
previous session that she was the NC? Nothing really. And this past year was pretty quiet
for the AB with no real controversies as experienced in other years. Sherri Bradley had to
deal with some pretty difficult issues when she served and she did an excellent job.
I think that I would be a great NC. If you don't think I would, then you should vote
for Tina. If you think I would be good for the national project, then I hope you will vote
for me.
Jim Cox, one of my CCs in Indiana, generated a great opportunity for collaboration with
Family Search and we created a call with people from Family Search early this year. My
feelings are that Tina was mostly against any real collaboration with FS. I think she may
have been on two calls and after that nothing.
How the opportunity could have worked out was never really investigated any further. I
believe that Tina really cares about USGW, but that conversation was basically shut down
and never discussed anywhere except on the AB. I'm pretty sure it was never brought to
the membership to be discussed at all. So I'm wondering how she intends to promote the
project if she is re-elected.
I want to open up dialogue where any and every CC has an opportunity to make suggestions
on how to promote the project and listen avidly to all ideas. And give those ideas an
opportunity to blossom into fruition.
It's all up to those voting members to choose.
Thanks so much for giving me consideration.
