Please feel free to forward.
I have been receiving so many wonderful and kind emails of congratulations (and some
sympathy..Larry...lol), and all if them are so much appreciated. Thank you so very much.
I know that my style is probably much different from any other NC that has headed up the
USGW and I am truly excited and hope to make a big difference. I invite all of you to be
my partners in leading USGW through the next 12 months. I want to hear from CCs with any
problem or idea or issue they may have. I'm certain I won't have all the answers
but together let's figure out a way to solve problems and issues and to implement
great ideas. We need to move into the next generation of life and technology (albeit most
of you are probably much more intelligent about the technology part), but I am very
willing to be educated in everything and I am depending on our volunteers to help me in
this new adventure. I have already been receiving emails and phone calls about possible
ideas to implement.
My request is that all of us keep an open mind to all possibilities and look to what will
best impact USGW and keep us in the forefront of free genealogy research for the users of
our project and how best to impact other projects and groups. How to best move USGW
forward and garner more support and bring in new volunteers in all areas of this project.
I need your help to do that. Each and every volunteer with USGW is an integral and
important component of this project. Without you, there would be no us! There would be no
USGW! Each of us makes an extremely valuable contribution no matter what it is that we
are doing. Whether it's participating on the EC, the Grievance Committee, the Advisory
Board, one of the Special Projects, anywhere at all, it takes all of us to do this job
that was created and undertaken at the beginning of this project.
I certainly do not profess to know everything about this project or all if its history,
but I am committed to assist in making a huge impact over the coming year.
I for one invite everyone to be a positive impact in your counties, on the mail lists and
everywhere in the project. And I also invite those who don't truly WANT to be a
positive impact, to leave the project. If you don't love and care for USGW, why make
yourselves miserable? It's just a question that only each of you individually can a
answer for yourselves. But I have to say if I didn't believe in what is possible for
this project, I wouldn't be here.
Let's start on September 1st on this coming year long adventure with a commitment to
take this project and impact the world!
Thanks.
