I upgraded as soon as IE7 was available and have had no problems with it at
all, and I am a power user when it comes to a lot of programs on my
computer, including all the adobe products.
I wonder what the programs are that are no longer running. It would be
interesting to be able to isolate them and see if it is across the board or
just a few people.
Thanks Le and Don for the information.

P.S. My exhibit at the Longmont Museum Historical Mead: a Centennial, a
photographic journey through 100 years of Mead's history opens tomorrow. We
do have a few artifacts along with the photos, including the original fire
hose cart used in Mead from 1915 to 1962, to put out the fires in the town,
and the original school sign for the Highlandlake school, est. in 1877.
This is the first museum exhibit I have ever worked on and three years since
I first proposed it to the Museum as a possible exhibit. What a learning
experience! If any of you are in the Longmont area, sometime in the next
five weeks, stop by the Longmont Museum and Cultural Center at 400 Quail Rd
and see it. I'm happy with it, I hope the visitors to the exhibit will be
too.

Thanks, Lee, for sending that out.
As a Microsoft Corporation employee and an avid IE7 user, I'd encourage
all
of you to immediately upgrade to IE7. The security features of IE7 make
it
an important upgrade to your system - including the built-in phishing
detection and other attack avoidance mechanisms.
If any of you find a problem with IE7 interworking with any of your other
programs please let me know and I will commit to getting you answers right
away. Paranoia about a lot of Microsoft products has been understandable
(Ok, I admit I don't run Vista), but IE7 is such a positive upgrade that
even my son, a nerd who was running a non-Microsoft browser, tried it and
quickly decided that this was better than any of the other browsers he had
been using.
Again- any problems with IE7 (or any Microsoft product) contact me for
quick
resolution.

A heads up. I don't have any personal experience with IE7 but ...
Microsoft is ready to release Internet Explorer 7 as a replacement for
version 6. There has been considerable discussion among those who have
tried the release version about conflicts with other software installed
making the software unusable.
In many cases removing IE7 and reinstalling IE6 (or some other browser)
didn't cure the conflict because new versions of common subprograms were
left in place.
If you are as paranoid as I am and have XP XP2 set up to auto update,
Microsoft has created an "IE7 Blocker Toolkit" for you so you can block
delivery until the dust settles. Visit
www.microsoft.com/downloads/ and
search for the Explorer Blocker Toolkit. Install it in a handy directory
and follow the instructions in the included HTM file.
If you try IE7 and it doesn't work you can drop back to the system restore
point set when IE7 was installed and resolve most of the problems.
