Billie,
I have no problem with the monthly roll call, I have never missed one, I
get irritated with seeing everyone who answers roll call but that is what
it is. As for Major issues, I too have had my share( a 15 year old grand
daughter battling cancer for the second time in as many years and the death
of a grandson who left a wife and two small boys under the age of 4 to name
a few). So I know about alligators and arm pits.
MY problem, I can not access the web site to make changes or add pages that
I have designed. I have tons of information and pictures that I would like
to share but I can't. It has been several years since I have done any web
design and I find that web design has passed me by and I am have to relearn
on the fly!. The original pages I did have downloaded, but when my
computer died earlier this year, I lost everything that wasn't saved on my
external hard drive. I have purchased Adobe Muse, which seems to be easier
to design in but it will neither download the pages that are out there nor
upload anything I have designed. I have downloaded "Coffee Cup" but again
I have the same problem. I have found that if I save my work to my desk
top my web publisher will upload them to the site, but I am not sure if it
will replace what is there or will I have a bigger mess!, because it only
works one way.
So if someone could suggest a program that will allow me to retrieve what
is there now, so that I can at least make the changes you request and then
allow me to upload what I have design it would be fantastic. Is there a
county web page that I can look at that is correct in lay out. I am a
visual person, and if I can see exactly what you need change or updated
that would help too!
If I could get Phillips county up and running, I wouldn't mind taking on
another county, I am a novice historian and have an extensive collection of
historical data for Colorado,Western Nebraska and Kansas

I will answer this way.
As COGenWeb we are under that rules and bylaws of the USGenWeb.

http://usgenweb.org/volunteers/bylaws.shtml
We, all members of the USGenWeb and associated state and county sites,
are required to meet these standards. That's the reason we have site
audits. It is not an easy thing to do and takes the leadership team of
the COGenWeb time and effort. There are 64 counties in Colorado and we
have to physically look at each one. Not to mention that we, the
leadership team, have to maintain counties up for adoption as well as
our own. This _IS_NOT_ something we, the leadership team, do lightly or
to be mean.
I have not been on the leadership team very long so I'm not sure what,
and when, decisions were made for the rules of COGenWeb. I'm sure they
were not just arbitrarily handed down. I would guess that in it's early
days COGenWeb voted on what the rules would be. SO, we all have to
follow the states rules as well as the USGenWeb rules.
Gail has not really been very public, and I hope she will forgive me,
but her life has had to take some *MAJOR* changes and disruptions
lately. I, myself, have had some pretty major issues to deal with.
Everyone is up to their alligators in arm pits.
God bless Colleen, she has been the rock that has held us up.
Aileen, what can we do to help you?

A cat is a puzzle with no solution.
Cats are tiny little women in fur coats.
When you get all full of yourself try giving orders to a cat.
