This email is being sent thru Rootsweb mail list. The Rootsweb mail list
has been down again and has recently just come back online.
When Rootsweb is down in order to communicate with the CC's we have to use
the google mail list and that was the list that everyone was suppose to
use to check in this month.
Billie used the Rootsweb mail list to check in and the only reason it
showed up was it is back online.
I can delete all members from the Rootsweb mail list and only use the
google mail list if it would be less confusing.
This is not just happening on the state level it is also happening on the
national level and they have had to do the same thing that I have done.
Dan, I am sorry you are unhappy with no posts to the mail list. When we
get s discussion going members complain about their email inbox filling up
with unwanted email.
There is a lot going on off the mail list that the CC's never see, queries
answered, searches done and communication with a lot of researchers.
Every day I am asked for something, like where is my Dad buried? We didn't
have money for his burial, where did you put him? I want to buy a cemetery
lot. My grandparents are buried in CO, where are they? I was born in TX
and I live in TX so where is my grandfather he died in Colorado. Of
course, there are no names or dates added to any of these queries.
If I get a query for a certain county, I forward it on to the CC or try and
deal with it myself.
USGenWeb is going strong and has good leaders, just mail lists have been
messed up that is out of our control.

Hello Billie,
Why did your posting to Rootsweb elicit feedback to all coordinators while
the rest of us did not? We need someone to keep COGen alive. Please help.
