Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Sundee,
This statement below sounds great, but I have a few specific questions:
1. What are the profanity words which are forbidden?
2. Do we really have to state we are against pornography on our COGenWeb home page?
3. Do these codes apply to CCs' private lives?
4. If a person tells another person they need to get Jesus in their life, is that considered a derogatory statement? (It implies to me that is a way of saying the person is an atheist or a Jew or a Buddhist or immoral or irreligious.)
If a person says it's silly to want a vote, is that not a derogatory statement toward those who want a vote?
5. If a problem can not be resolved, what good does it do to go to the SC or ASC or anyone for that matter?
6. How did this code become adopted for COGenWeb? Was there a vote by the CCs or was it handed down from somewhere?

We, the COGenWeb Project volunteers, adhere to a strict code of conduct in our dealings with the public and with each other.
We refrain from using any profanity on our web pages, in our emails, or on any list we may be on. We do not promote pornography.
We do not use derogatory statements at any time. If we have a problem
with anyone, we try to be as polite as possible, whether dealing with the public or with another volunteer.
Whenever we have problems that cannot be resolved, we go to the SC or
ASC for assistance.
This is who we are, and who we intend to keep being!

Just a reminder folks:
Could you please check your pages and make sure that they have me and
Gail listed as the SC and ASC.
Gail has been doing some sweeps and finding Mary Ann and Leona still listed.
Also a gentle reminder that we have a Code of Conduct in Colorado and
it is listed on our pages.
This is what it says:
We, the COGenWeb Project volunteers, adhere to a strict code of
conduct in our dealings with the public and with each other.
We refrain from using any profanity on our web pages, in our emails,

I think this about covers what I have to say today.
I am off to go to work in the cemetery. Long story.......

Just thought I would let the group know that I will be out of town on August
1, so I will not be available for check in. I don't know if I will have
Internet access for that time duration from July 27 through August 6.
Thanks.

I am uploading 300 photos on another site now. It is easy by using my system.

FTP access to users.rootsweb.com may be back. At least I can get in again
now.
I was able to do a bit of work Sunday afternoon and then FTP died again
so.....
Lee
I use PicSizer to resize all the photos in a folder at once.
I then use a program to name the photos. Only takes seconds.

I do it for a few counties. I am trying to currently get a system
like it set up for the Colorado Photos Project because it is that
easy! Way easier than resizing photos myself.
