Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Sundee and Gail said the coding on the CoGenWeb page was over
their heads so I have taken on cleaning it up. If you know of anything
that needs to be fixed on the site or the volunteer page or else where let
me know. It will take me a while, I am leaving on vacation and won't have
access to my computer to do anything with it for a while.
I changed all the county links site wide so that the ones that
ended in /index.htm or html now just end in / . There were a few county
sites that go to other pages and I will check them out later. Or you can
let me know if they need changing.

Alright hopefully everything is fixed for everyone. Scott I uploaded
the volunteer page. Thank you so much for doing it.
/'s were added at the end of url's. Maps fixed, tables fixed. All
this today along with working, going to do obit lookup's. Cooking
chili and eating too much of it!!!
This wore me out! :)

Thanks Annie.
I removed all the links that had the index.htm and html on them and
added slashes for everyone.

I've been saying that for months, Alamosa and Costilla county need to be

What are the URL's for those two counties? There could be something wrong
with the page I was using to check counties. It came up a 404.

Also, Sundee.. LaPlata, Jackson and Las Animas counties are down. I had to

DC has to be Douglas Co. since that is where West Creek is.

An afterthought. If her grandfather survived into the early 1940s Caryn
might want to check Colorado Vital Records for an "after the fact" birth
registration issued then. The social security administration required a
certificate from all applicants. I have "after the fact" ones issued in the
1940s for my maternal grandparents who were born in the 1890s.

Searching for an 1892 birth record in offical records is a waste of Caryn's
time and money. Colorado didn't mandate birth and death information
registration until 1910. The Colorado Vital Records website indicates
Douglas County didn't collect the information until it was required by the
state.

Caryn was apparently referring to the COPlaces "West Creek" entries when she
mentioned El Paso. As Jan indicated West Creek was in Douglas County just
north of the Teller Co. line. According to the Colo. State Archives, the
city fathers apparently filed papers to incorporate West Creek in both El
Paso and Douglas counties on Mar 3, 1896. I will clean up that listing to
indicate it is very likely the same place.

Hi Sundee,
West Creek was in DC. After the fire up there near Woodland Park it destroyed the last two cabins. Believe it or not they had 2,000 people living there when they had a gold strike, and it disapeared in a matter of two years. He may have been born at that time.
DC does not keep the birth records, she can order them from the State of CO. She may even be able to order them online. Or she might try Tri-County health in Denver.

I do think you have really spent a lot of time and I appreciate what you've done. I'm hoping to get out and get a little Physical Therapy after the next surgery to have the two screws that are coming out put back in, in Jan. Of course I said that about my last surgery in June.
I do have a gal in Castle Rock who's eager to get out and help me too.

from?
The pictures on the whole site? Everybody has been adding them and the
majority of them came from Jim Davenport who has tried to gather as
many as
possible in his travels. I have added a lot especially in LaPlata,
Chaffee
and Lake Co.'s. My son and his wife added some in Lake Co. Pauline
added a
whole lot in Elbert Co. This "person" added a whole lot in Pueblo Co.
