Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Wishing all of you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

As I look out the office window and reflect on the past year I realize I have so much to be thankful for again. Among my list is all my internet friends that have been so good to me and for me, and have helped so very much on projects and assistance on our web sites. Each one of you is remembered and acknowledged for all the wonderful things you have contributed throughout the year. I have been blessed to meet you and get to know you. Without all of you helping, I couldn't do the job I do, it just wouldn't be possible. So please know how very much you are appreciated.
We have all accomplished so much this year, its really amazing what we can do when we all pitch in. I am so thankful for all the New Mexico County Coordinators that stood by me in a very difficult time, all the Taos researchers that contributed so much to the Taos website, all the Huerfano researchers that never fail to lift me up and make me keep going and still contribute so much for the Huerfano website, all the Pueblo researchers that have held up their hands when I needed volunteers to help on the asylum project and are still working on it, all the Las Animas researchers that have written to me with new data and suggestions to get that site up and going. I am overwhelmed by the generosity of each and every one who has contributed data or volunteered to work on a project. You are wonderful people and I appreciate you all so very much.
I am also so thankful for the backing I have received from the Advisory Board members of the USGenWeb Project, the encouragement from the USGennet Project, the AHGP and ALHN. All of them stepped up to be accounted for when the going got rough and I needed the compassion and encouragement from them. They came out in full force which told me how very much they appreciate the work I do. Thank you all so very much. And of course I am thankful for my Colorado State Coordinator for all the hard work she does and how she has helped me, stood by me, and encouraged me in every way. I can only hope that as NM State Coordinator I am as effective as she is. Thank you Sundee!
All of you make this a wonderful community in which to be a member. I encourage each of you to share your warm thoughts with all of us.
Merry Christmas to all of you and have a safe holiday season.

The Colorado pages of the USGenWeb Archives Project have somehow managed to
get through almost ten years without having a unique logo as about
two-thirds of the other project state pages do.

It's folks like you that makes all of this work. I could not handle 30 lists (or even 5).
We are fortunate that you are willing.

I too am finding the mail lists a pain in the back side and have turned a
bunch of mine back to RW so they can deal with the posts daily. You know
what? They can't seem to get the message that I am returning the mail lists
back to them and that I don't want to deal with the new list procedures so
they ignore me. Now I will start sending the bounces back to the listmaster
until he takes the list back over.

Gail,
Can you outline the process for me to turn the lists back over to the listmaster? I've had my fill of this nonsense myself. I own 12 mailing lists and every time I turn around I have to deal with the spam.
