Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Good morning Gail!
If you know a burial was in the given cemetery, whether there is a marker or
not, you must list it. Personally speaking, my reason for filming all of the
headstones in Huerfano County is because someday all of these stones will be
gone, as some already are.
In my research I have found where a given cemetery was previosly read. But I
have found many listings where the markers are no longer there. They are
still included.
If the previously recorded listings that you copied gave you the Section,
Block, and grave number, and there is no marker at that location, then you
should list the correct person there. You just have to make sure you are
reading the plot map correctly. If you do not know exactly where the person
was buried, only that he/she is definitely in this cemetery then put "grave
location unknown" after that name.
Be careful about reading these old cemeteries, believe me, it's addictive
!!! <grin>.

I know this does not have a lot to do with Colorado Genealogy (or maybe
it does) but to duck the current globs of email for a while, some of you
may want to go to http://www.geocities.com/grace24u/4thofjul.html and
turn your sound on and wait for the entire thing to load before you
start scrolling. It is worth your time in pure enjoyment and patriotism.

Hi,
The question I have to ask pertains to AZ but it will soon be happening in
CO.
I have been walking the cemetery here in Casa Grande and there are a lot of
unmarked graves. Now I spent many a day copying records from an old funeral
book and so I have dates of birth, in some cases, and death dates of people
who are buried in the section that I am walking now. If I do not find the
names of the people I have in my records in the cemetery, would you add them
to the list of those buried there from my records or just ignore that fact
that they must be in one of the unmarked graves?
Gail
I was able to add to the index a couple of weeks ago when I finally got
Custer updated after moving... my >ONLY< county that has been updated, mind
you, since at least April if not March. I updated the URLs last night so
had no idea what youall were talking about with the URLs changing. They
were like that last night when I was on, and the link still holds today...
for the moment.

Well Patrick, so far it is still there. But as to wether it is still indexing
sites, is a good question.
I don't know if you can even edit the Surname helper manager stuff any more. <

Leona, and Lee. I would like to say Thank you for your responding to all of
the changes. I have been a bit busy today and just now am getting to my email.
Wow, did I miss a bunch of stuff. I guess I will have to go edit a buch of
urls <sigh>
Thank you to all of the COGenWeb CC's for all of their teamwork.

All of the GC boards use to automatically set up with Surname Helper. Yes,
Patti Lindsy is not doing the Surname Helper any longer. She has not been
connected with the USGW or RW or the Surname Helper for quite a while.

they aren't archived. Someone posted a URL for a United States Gazetteer, or

This goes back to my last message of Rootsweb/ancestry/usgenweb running VERY
SLOW or not uploading at all!!
Maggie and I had a hard time with census images on ancestry yesterday, they
would not upload or they took 10 mins to load.
Some usgenweb pages are taking forever to load also.
I think they have overloaded the server especially when they did those
boards, that is when the slowness hit.

Hi, Everyone!
I apologize to all of you for the inordinate amount of mail from me today.
Hopefully, I won't think of anything else to bother you with today. That
said . . .
With the most recent changes to the county message boards our Administrative
URLs have changed, too. They are now
http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=admin.board&r=rw&p=localities.northam.
usa.states.colorado.counties.countyname
Of course you put the name of your county where it says "countyname."
This, too, will end!
Leona
Leona
Network problems.
In my case TraceRt shows a lot of network problems (* all over the
page) but 22 hops away is users.rootsweb.com just waiting for me to
login. B-)
I uploaded a new page an hour ago but now I have to wait for several
seconds between steps in the process because of the network between
us.
