Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Yes Pauli I sure did. I got about 35 photos in the past two days to add to
the site, not counting the 25 I just added. :>)

Good evening,
We have 25 new photos added to the USGenWeb photos project. I would like
to personally thank all who have visited the Colorado photos project and
have sent their thanks for making it all come together.
I would also like to thank Theresa L. Pino & Karen Mitchell via the
(Denver Public Library) for sharing these wonderful photos with us.
Huerfano County now has 8 pages of photos. Can you believe that!!!!!!
The new photos start on page 6. Pages 7 & 8 are new pages added to that
county.
If any of you have Colorado Photos of your ancestors, first businesses,
schools, churches, homesteads, old towns, ghost towns etc., you would like
to share, we would love to add them to the site. Several family connections
have all ready been made through this wonderful project.
Many counties have more than one page of photos. Don't forget to use the
links at the bottom of the county pages to view all of the photos.
The new photos can be viewed by visiting the Colorado USGenWeb Photos
Project at http://www.rootsweb.com/~cophotos/index.htm . Look for the
counties with the gold star for new additions.
We have 7 counties that have no photos. If you have any of your
ancestors from those counties, please help us reach our goal by adding every
county on the map with photos. We are all most there!
The new photos are listed in the following county: Huerfano.
Huerfano (25) -
1. Theresa L. Pino (1) - Mr. & Mrs. Antonio Pino
2. Karen Mitchell (via the Denver Public Library) (24) - Oakdale Coal Mine,
D & RG engines, Lizard Head Mountain, Ravenwood Coal Camp, Oakview store and
post office, Oakview Coal Camp, Oakdale Coal Company Office, Pinion Supply,
Maitland Coal Camp, Walsenburg, CO., Ravenwood Coal Mine Tipple, Lake Miriam

Spanish Peaks from Munda's, Mount Mestas, Spanish Peaks, Leven Lakes and
Spanish Peaks, The Sierra Blanca, First National Bank, Denver Public
Library, Bradford, CO., Farasita Cemetery & Francisco Plaza.

Mary Ann,
I wrote the lady listed below and offered my services as I've given these
presentations before. I did leave it open to any of you who live closer by
to offer as well (since I am down in Pueblo). I don't mind traveling to
Denver and have even traveled farther. These are great fun and I always
generate more volunteers and a great response, not to mention exposure, for
our COGenweb. If anyone else would like to get started doing these
presentations I would highly encourage it. I can also give you great
pointers.

I'm doing research for a memoir for a lady, who with her family and relatives, lived and farmed near Raymer for 18 months beginning in 1915. She is 90 years old now and mentions an "old Cheyenne (Indian) trail" crossing a creek on the way to their homestead some 17 miles n/ne of Raymer.
Do you know, or can you direct me to a source that might know, the name of the creek and if an old Cheyenne Indian trail existed in the area?
Many thanks.

Good evening to all,
I have a favor please. The photo project is going like crazy which is
good. :>) I am also getting several photos sent to me via the county
coordinators which is fine however, if it is not to much to ask, I must have
the submitters first and last name or I will NOT post the photos. There is
also a page located here that explains how a photo should be sent.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~cophotos/Submission/index.htm
Here are the problems that I am running into and as small as they are,
it is slowing me down on getting them listed.
1. No first and or last names for the submitter.
2. Email addresses are not the addresses of the submitters ( I have been
contacted by 3 people this week telling me IF I have to list an email
address please change theirs to whatever. I have to write them back and ask
what photo and in what county was it listed and wait for their reply then
reload the pages to reflect the changes. It all just takes time and slows
down the process on new photos I am working on. )
3. Phrases are not worded right and or words are misspelled.
4. File formats are all over the place. The above url spells out what file
formats to use and how to send them.
5. I am getting as many as 8 photos per email. There should only be one
photo per email with the description please. You can not believe how that
slows down the load time of that one message. Unless I am aware of this in
advance.
The submitter has to list the address they use, I do not change any spelling
or wording on a photo. The phrases and or wording are as the submitter sent
or as it was forwarded to me.
PLEASE before you forward me a photo of any kind make sure all of the above
is met.
I appreciate your support and efforts in this project.
Thank you all,
Addie
