Anyone have any information on Henry and his children? He was born in
Va about 1750, lived in Caswell Co NC prior to moving to Union Co
about 1795 where he apparently died about 1830's.
Ray: I am not familiar with the Looking Glass article you mentioned.
Can you tell us more about it and where it is available. Also, have you
ever found any promising links between the Tennessee and Georgia
Cogburns. Seems strange that some of both would end up together in the
same part of Arkansas if there was not some connection somewhere. My
interest has been in the Georgia Cockburns who moved to Arkansas,
spreading out into Oklahoma Indian Territory and Texas, but the hope is
always that a link to the Tennessee and Carolina Cockburns might connect
to a mutual ancestor bridging the gap back to England/Scotland.

Yes I have had this information for about 10 years. Seems like I told
people about the NARA site back then sorry you missed it. Found my
ancestor Robert Porter (related to Cogburn's) was indicted as a horse
thief. The records provided the affidavit from 6 or 7 men as to the
"facts" . It is unknown if he was captured and tried but he later
became a MG in the Free Will Baptist Church and married many people in
Montgomery Co.
Most of the men listed are from the Tennessee Cogburn's and according
to long "Looking Glass" article about the Cogburn's, they learned
moonshine making from Noah Beezley (or maybe Noah's father). Henry
Cogburn was in Hunt Co Tx when he met (I tried to track a connection
to the Beezley's back to Missouri but didn't find anything) the
Beezley's and both families moved back to Montgomery Co. There may be
some connection for the Cogburn's to someone in Hunt Co Tx as I later
found a Porter family moved there (coincidence perhaps).
In recent years I have been unable to re-access those records, so
thanks for a reminder.

Does anyone know if there are still rolling pins, walking canes, etc available to purchase that Mitchell Cogburn made? Also is he still living?
I don't know for sure that I tie to this line but would love to have a couple of his pieces. Thank you, Sandra
